Asus VivoBook F510UA is an improved version of other former VivoBook editions launched by Asus. It has a strikingly elegant look about it, with a shiny metallic chassis that gets progressively thicker as you move towards the hinges. Asus VivoBook F510UA was also made lighter and thinner compared to its predecessors. At 14.2 x 9.6 x 0.8 inches and only about 3.7 pounds, it much more portable than its predecessors.
When you open it you will find that the placement of its trackpad, ports, keyboard and other important features is similar to its VivoBook predecessors. The Asus VivoBook F510UA has an ultra-narrow 0.3’’ NanoEdge bezel, giving it a stunning 80% screen-to-body ratio. This makes the massive full-size 15.6’’ Full HD WideView display stand out even more. Everything about this laptop is sleek, solid, uniform and very attractive, making it look like a much more expensive laptop.
You will get a 1920×1080 px Full HD display with the Asus VivoBook F510UA. Its WideView feature not only makes it look better but it also greatly boosts the viewing angles. It also comes with the proprietary visual optimization technology from ASUS, which allows the user to get automatically optimized visuals from any kind of media playing on the laptop.
It also has vivid, eye care, normal and manual display modes which can easily be accessed via voice activation, the ASUS Tru2Life Video technology, and intelligent sensors on the display that optimize essential visual parameters like contrast, hue, brightness, and sharpness in each pixel resulting in images that pop a lot more. If you are looking for something to game on, you will need one with a bigger screen.
Asus VivoBook F510UA is powered by an impressive 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8250U processor. The processor is clocked at 1.6GHz but can run up to 3.4GHz when its on turbo mode. It also comes with 8GB DDR4 RAM that will let you handle almost any application you can throw at it with ease. You will be able to run multiple programs at the same time while browsing several tabs all at once without experiencing any lags in performance with this beauty.
You also get a cool 1TB HDD of storage with the F510UA. Although it cannot keep up with the performance capabilities of an SSD hard drive, it still offers enough space to cover all your storage requirements. You will still experience some decent efficiency and speed when transferring data.
You also do not get any GPU to accompany the default Intel UHD 620 integrated graphics.
It has a fingerprint sensor which adds a layer of security to the machine. If you want a more up to date machine, you will have to upgrade the RAM to 16GB and swap the HDD with a solid state HDD.
The VivoBook F510UA has a standard set of ports and slots that are uniformly placed on both sides of the device. It has one USB 3.0, one USB 3.1 port, and one USB 2.0 for peripheral devices. The machine also has an HDMI port, SD card reader and a 3.5mm Audio Jack.
The 720p VGA camera on this VivoBook will capture decent pictures when the lighting is sufficient. However, it does not take good pictures in low light. It also has quick image rendering capabilities and captures video fleeting moments very well.
Thanks to its impressive collection of all the latest and powerful hardware components, this device gives some excellent performance for its price tag. It is fast and relatively quiet as you perform various tasks on it. It also holds its own on a few graphics intensive tasks, and you will even be able to run and play a few modern games on it. However, it is definitely not a gaming laptop, and it starts to heat up rather fast when you push it too hard, but for someone, like a writer it is very good.. If all you need is some light gaming, though, the Asus VivoBook F510UA has got you covered.
This VivoBook comes with twin Built-in Stereo speakers that are powerful enough to fill a large room with sound. The sound it produces is also very clear through the various modes it has, such as bass, accustomed mids, tremble among others.
When it comes to video, it can also comfortably handle many different forms of codecs and videos. FHD and 4K videos play with absolutely zero lag because of the laptop’s wide viewing angles.
When performing simple everyday tasks such as some light browsing and text editing, the ASUS VivoBook F510UA can last for 5-6 hours on continuous battery usage. It takes about two hours to reach a full charge. There are several laptops within the same price range that have much better battery performance.
That being said, having the latest 8th generation Intel processor uses up a lot of power, and it is no surprise that the battery gets drained this fast. So it is a small price to pay to get the raw processing power that the F510UA gives you.
